About The Presenter
Jason A. Seidel, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist, consultant, and lecturer with a full-time private practice in Denver, Colorado.

He started his psychotherapy practice straight out of graduate school in 1998, and has a 100% private-pay clientele. He is trained in object-relational, existential, body-centered, and other therapies, and specializes in the treatment of anxiety and trauma. He currently serves as Senior Associate and Advisory Board Member for the International Center for Clinical Excellence. He is a past Associate of the Institute for the Study of Therapeutic Change; and has consulted for the online therapy directory, GoodTherapy.org.

Dr. Seidel offers The Business of Private Practice as a workshop to groups across the country, and provides consultation to individuals and groups on outcome-informed practice development. His goal in providing the workshop is to support the power and integrity of psychotherapy by encouraging therapists to increase their value to the field, enabling them to exceed their perceived limits, and inspiring them to value their contribution to society.

His academic work also reflects this goal. See his critical review of the medicalization of mental process (available in PDF at his private practice website): Seidel, J.A. (2005). Experience is a biochemical intervention: Reconceptualizing the "biologically based mental illness." Bulletin of the Menninger Clinic, 69(2), 157-171.
